1. Gathering at the library of Fenner Nature Center @ 1pm
2. Outdoors: running, relay & tagging survival skill-themed games
3. Indoors: Snack (provided by Foods for Living)
4. Presentation by Peter Carrington, Ph.D. Assistant Curator & Collection Manager, W. J. Beal Botanical Garden
5. Learning about Survival Skills in Michigan - Shelter Building, Solar Stills, & Signaling
6. Outdoors: Hiking & Building Shelters in the Pines Area of Fenner Nature Center, including time to play & explore :-).
NOTE: Fenner's library where we are meeting for intro, snack & presentations is smaller than our usual space at Haslett Library. *‘Hiking gear’ can be as simple as old sneakers, shoes, or boots that you are comfortable walking 1-2 miles in, and that you don’t mind getting muddy or wet, if there is mud or water on the trails.
